Only 31% of CRE Firms Currently Use AI Technologies

The world of commercial real estate has yet to fully adopt AI technology. Just 31% of firms surveyed by Deloitte said they’re currently using AI technology. Still, AI is the future of commercial real estate. While just a small fraction of firms may be using it now, 63% say they plan to use AI tech in the future.

Like nearly every aspect of our rapidly changing economy, AI technology is evolving quickly. For commercial real estate that means many of the administrative tasks that take up huge amounts of time may soon be outsourced and automated by AI. Think about what AI could do for facility maintenance. Instead of performing routine checks, finding an issue, finding a contractor and making the repair, all of which could end up taking days or weeks, AI could predict the maintenance, report the issue, locate a contractor and schedule a repair.

That’s just one problem AI could help solve. As the technology continues to grow, so will its uses. AI is already being used by the world’s largest financial firms to assist with high-level strategic decision making. It’s not hard to see how that same technology can be applied to real estate.
