62% of CRE Firms Rate Tenant Experience as a Top Management Priority

For most commercial real estate owners and managers, the tenant always comes first. A recent survey by Deloitte found that 62% of commercial real estate firms rated tenant experience as the top priority for their business. In today’s rapidly evolving economy, putting tenant experience first means investing in a tenant’s digital experience.

Security-based apps to manage entry, building information interfaces to track sustainability efforts, and property management portals to convey critical information are the most essential digital improvements for tenants, according to Deloitte. Using technology to manage security access is an easy and convenient improvement for tenants; saving security manpower and money for both the tenant and property manager. Tracking sustainability with technology via an integrated building management system also saves money for all involved by ensuring a building’s costly electrical, mechanical, and gas systems are all operating at optimal settings, cutting out waste. Being able to pass along critical information to tenants in a time of emergency provides a valuable service for tenants. With disaster just around the corner, quick communication to ensure continued business operations can be a game changer.

Technology is here to make our lives easier. While that’s easier to say than to do, with the right focus, landlords and property managers can make the lives of their tenants easier with technology. There’s few things landlords love more than a happy tenant.
