Property Companies are Taking Digital Strategies Seriously

The real estate world is finally embracing the digital age. The vast majority of respondents in a recent KPMG survey of property companies found 95% of operations have a specific person dedicated to leading digital transformation. They’re not just turning to a low-level IT specialist either. The report found 62% of the time, the employee leading the digital transformation is a senior employee, with 89% of respondents reporting directly to the CEO or owner.

The main reason these companies are adapting to digital innovation is to enhance strategy and efficiency. New proptech products are being brought to market weekly. When proptech operations are asked why their customers use their products, 65% said to improve efficiencies, 47% said to reduce costs and 44% said to improve decision making.

Digital technology and innovation in the proptech sector can offer serious advantages to property companies. It’s no surprise that such an overwhelming majority of property companies are pursuing a digital transformation. Not making digital transformation could be costly down the road when a business realizes it’s too late to catch up to its competitors.
