19% of Property Companies Don't Have a Digital Strategy

Can you believe 19% of property companies don't have a digital strategy? In today’s age of digital technology, that’s almost unthinkable. A digital economy demands a digital strategy, even in the traditional world of real estate. Proptech—technology used to solve real estate problems—is an entirely new way of doing business. Not having a strategy to leverage proptech means its innovations may pass you by.

The first step is to drill in on your purpose. Whether you want to optimize processes, plan strategically, enable more agility or provide better transparency, it’s important to know what the goal is ahead of time so you don’t get distracted by the myriad of new tech options vying for attention. Next, dive deep into what that tech can do for you. In most cases, it‘s hard to understand what tech can do for your asset without a deep understanding of its functionality. If your team doesn't have someone who can help break down tech into something you understand, get help. That means building your own team with members who are tech savvy, or hiring an outside consultant or company to help.

There’s simply no excuse for not having a digital strategy. Digital innovation is simply too important to ignore. The world is moving fast, don’t let it pass you by.
