Main Drivers for Future PropTech / IT Investments in Asset Management

Proptech is using technology to solve problems that have longed plagued the property sector. Asset management is the biggest driver of proptech investment in the sector. What exactly are businesses looking to get out of that proptech investment? A recent study by KPMG found that 20% of companies want proptech collaboration to improve efficiency, 19% see it as a senior management priority and 18% see it as key to improving asset performance.

This year will be transformative for the proptech sector. While 2019 was a record setting year in terms of investment, 2020 is expected to explode that growth. In its early stages for the past several years, proptech is finally honing in on commercially viable products that are finding plenty of customer demand. Real estate's slow, risk-averse nature is finally understanding all that proptech has to offer.

No matter what you plan to use proptech for, it can move the needle. Dealing with the young proptech industry can be improved by asking for references from proptech vendors, asking for case studies and inquiring which of your competitors they’re already working with. Armed with information and rapport, it’s easier to see how proptech can improve in your business model.
