Prescriptive Data Selected By U.S. GSA As Green Proving Ground Finalist For GEB
NEW YORK, NY, July 28, 2020 – Prescriptive Data, a Manhattan-based PropTech developer of smart building operating system Nantum OS, announced today that it has been selected by the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) as one of four finalists in its Proving Ground program to promote energy efficiency within the GSA’s national real estate portfolio.
This is the second time Prescriptive Data has been selected by the GSA to test out Grid-Interactive Efficient Building (GEB) concepts for the agency. As part of the GSA Proving Ground program, the agency works with independent, third-party evaluators to test out pre- and early-commercial building technologies in federally-owned buildings.
Prescriptive Data’s Nantum OS monitors building electric, steam, water, and gas consumption, as well as BMS/HVAC performance, all in real-time to create a secure cloud-based data lake for each building or portfolio. Using this real-time data, Nantum OS employs machine learning and artificial intelligence algorithms to optimize real-time operational efficiency, enhance tenant comfort, reduce utilities costs and energy usage, improving building net-operating profits (NOI) thereby increasing the underlying value of real estate assets.
The GSA is currently testing Nantum’s new Automated Demand Response (ADR) functionality, which provides bi-directional communication between the demand response provider, the utility company, and the building operator when energy usage is higher than normal and the grid is strained, such as during a heat wave. By using the ADR function, Nantum OS users can receive load shed & load shift signals directly within the operating system, automatically trigger load curtailment events when signals arrive, visualize benchmark targets against real-time load data, and establish communication with utility partners using a portal developed by Prescriptive Data.
