Physical Workplace Key Factor to Tenant Happiness

Is there anything more critical to a building owner’s bottom line than hanging on to their tenants? Keeping your tenants happy may be the most important part of the real estate business. A new study from Equiem, a platform to manage tenant’s experience, found that 88% of survey respondents said the physical workplace is a very or extremely important factor in enjoying their working day. That means if you want to keep tenants happy, creating and maintaining a comfortable physical workplace is key.

Once a more passive enterprise, landlords are now under pressure to provide offices that provide wellness, comfort, and satisfaction. Once judged on floorplates, parking ratios, and gilded lobbies, modern office leasing is now defined by user-centric experiences, turning owning and leasing buildings into a more hospitality-focused business.

Providing ease, convenience, and comfort throughout an office building is no easy task. Often with thousands of workers spread across hundreds of thousands of square feet, keeping tabs on tenant comfort used to be an exercise in personal check-ins and addressing complaints. Building automation and management systems are simple ways to streamline the process, helping to maintain optimal temperature, light and occupancy, keeping tenants comfortable and rent checks rolling in.
