2022 RTEM Hackathon

Prescriptive Data's Nantum OS was selected as a finalist for the 2022 RTEM Hackathon.

The challenge provided participants with over 200 buildings worth of time-series data from the RTEM database. Data sources include building automation systems and connected devices, utility meters, equipment submeters, and IoT sensors. This data was collected by dozens of RTEM vendors in real-time, from commercial and multifamily properties located throughout New York State.

Participants were asked to send in creative submissions that that positively impact or accelerate the electrification and decarbonization of New York State commercial and multi-family buildings using the provided data set.

Prescriptive Data’s Core Research team took the data and designed a carbon zero strategy for the portfolio. The strategy included machine learning data analysis and open data source integration which revealed areas for energy and carbon reduction including real time energy management, AI/ML BMS retrofit and electrification analysis, numerous automations, and renewable energy procurement. This data was put through a decarbonization and electrification playbook where potential savings throughout the portfolio were identified. A discussion about challenges in implementation and market adoption yet the valuable impact of the strategy was also included in the report.
