What Is Demand Response?

  • Demand response programs allow real estate owners and tenants to play a significant role in the reliability of the electric grid’s operation by reducing electricity demand (kW) during peak periods of grid stress in exchange for financial incentives.

  • When DR events are called by the utility or grid operator, customers enrolled in the DR program will voluntarily reduce electricity usage for a defined period of time.
