Prescriptive Data Launches New Building Operating System

New York, NY – Manhattan-based technology company Prescriptive Data LLC is bringing to market Nantum, a new operating system for the built environment that will be unveiled at the Realcomm IBCon conference in Silicon Valley June 21-24. The new system –a joint development of the Rudin Family, one of the largest privately held property management companies in New York City – is a revolutionary smart building platform that collaboratively and organically integrates all building systems into one, easy-to-use, cockpit style control panel. It will be showcased in Booth #1513 where representatives from both parties will be on hand to demonstrate the Nantum system. It is built on MongoDB, the most popular non-relational database.

Designed to function as the “brain” of a building, Nantum utilizes cloud technology to gather property data in real-time. It collects information about building occupancy, electric demand, outside weather and other factors to maintain optimal indoor temperatures and the most efficient use of energy onto a single screen. It also offers real time commissioning 365 days a year, 24 hours a day.

“The Nantum System is an entirely new way to provide accessible data instantaneously, giving landlords the information they need to manage their building portfolio in a quicker, more efficient manner,” said Rhea Moss, Head of Product at Prescriptive Data, LLC. “It works to save money, make tenants more comfortable and dramatically increase energy efficiency.”

Using information correlated from elevators and turnstiles, the Nantum system “learns” from past data to predict daily energy usage and generate recommendations to optimize the way a building runs. For example, the turnstiles in the building “talk” to the cooling and heating system, so that the temperature can be adjusted based on building occupancy. In addition, the system responds quickly to spikes and other patterns to help owners save energy, such as the “lunchtime dip” when many people leave the building.

Currently, Rudin is using Nantum in 17 of their New York City buildings, including 15 commercial buildings and two residential towers, totaling approximately 10 million square feet overall. The system is currently providing energy savings of between 10% and 13% in the Rudin portfolio, ranging from 40 to 50 cents per square foot depending on the number of hours the building operates on an annual basis.

“As owners, our job is to focus on making our residents, our occupants and our commercial office tenants as comfortable as they possibly can by utilizing the least amount of energy possible,” said John Gilbert, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Rudin Management. “Nantum allows our properties to have continuous, real-time commissioning, thus allowing our customers to receive the highest possible levels of service all while saving money and electricity. We are extremely excited by the prospects of this new system and will be working with our partners to market this system to other property owners and tenants.”

Nantum is available for demo by appointment. For more information about the operating system, please visit Prescriptive Data’s website at http://www.prescriptivedata.io/

About Nantum

Built by people who run buildings for people who run buildings, Nantum is the Building Operating System that centralizes a building’s existing components and systems to optimize energy consumption, save money, increase comfort, and increase security. Nantum unifies all building data systems onto a single platform presented in both a mobile and cockpit style control panel. It provides total situational awareness to building operators while remembering and learning from

historic data it collects and analyzes. It prescriptively recommends and automates real time system adjustments, identifies inefficiencies, targets preventative maintenance, and provides 24/7, 365 building recommissioning. As a whole, Nantum results in increased comfort, efficiency, and safety.
